About spazioBACCA

spazioBACCA is a new meeting place in the heart of Milan, located in the Pippa Bacca Garden in the Brera district. Created through the collaboration between Green City Italia and ECCO – the Italian climate think tank, we aim at developing an open, inclusive and participatory space dedicated to urban biodiversity, environment, climate, culture and art.

It is a space designed for people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. Particular attention is given to younger generations and to individuals and communities who may face greater challenges.

What happens at spazioBACCA?

Starting with the opening celebration on 20 March 2026 — the programme of the day can be found in the Events section — spazioBACCA will host an ongoing programme of activities and initiatives open to everyone.

Not a temporary project, but a lasting presence for the neighbourhood and the wider city.

At spazioBACCA you will find:

  • workshops for children, families and schools
  • talks and discussions on the environment, climate and sustainable lifestyles
  • cultural and artistic events
  • social projects developed together with local organisations
  • opportunities for dialogue between citizens, institutions, associations and the scientific community

Participation is not only a principle, but a daily practice.

A space of the city, for the city

spazioBACCA was established through the City of Milan’s public call for the spaces within the Pippa Bacca Garden and aims to become a new civic and cultural reference point for the city.

A place where environment, participation and social innovation come together.
A place that grows together with its community.
