spazioBACCA

In the heart of Milan, within the Pippa Bacca Garden, spazioBACCA takes shape as a place open to the city — a space for meeting, participation and shared care for the urban environment.

The project takes its name from the Milanese artist Pippa Bacca (1974–2008), whose work explored themes of trust, encounter and the possibility of building connections across cultural and social boundaries. Naming this space after her means keeping that vision alive and translating it into a living place where the community can come together, exchange ideas and imagine new ways of living together.

spazioBACCA is conceived as a civic and cultural space dedicated to biodiversity, environment and climate, as well as culture and creativity. Here, nature, knowledge and participation meet through activities open to the public, cultural initiatives and opportunities for dialogue between institutions, associations, schools and local communities.

The project is promoted by Green City Italia and ECCO – the Italian climate think tank, with the aim of creating an inclusive and accessible space where awareness can grow, knowledge can be shared and new practices for a more sustainable city can emerge.

More than a physical place, spazioBACCA aims to be a space of connection: a meeting point between nature and culture, between scientific knowledge and everyday life, and between the city and the people who inhabit it.
